Clarins Vital Light Day SPF15 - All Skin Types 50ml
Clarins Vital Light Day SPF15 - All Skin Types 50ml
Helps diminish the visible appearance of hyperpigmentation with the added benefit of an SPF. Clarins Vital Light Day SPF15 aims to recapture a woman's natural luminosity and a healthy glow that otherwise tends to fade with time. The wonder cream diminishes the appearance of hyperpigmentation and fine lines, whilst aiming to firm, smoothen, and illuminate mature skin with its added anti-aging properties. Clarins Research has combed the earth in order to find hardworking, healing botanicals that are effective in rediscovering a woman's inner luminosity. The answer, they found, was in the revitalising properties of 'pioneer plants', botanicals that revive and replenish dull skin and restore firmness. Clarins know that as skin ages, women want to look as luminous as they feel. Vital Light is the daily answer for mature skin, formulated in order to deeply revive skin and recapture youthful-looking firmness, however old you are. Apply to face and neck using the palms of the hands, working gradually from the centre of the face outwards. Complete with light, pressing movements to encourage product absorption without pulling skin. Use with Clarins Generation 6 serum

I recently visited 3 major department stores in London and asked the Clarins representatives what they would recommend for skin that is considerably middle aged. One suggested a super restorative cream and went into great detail how to apply it to the skin; one suggested a serum, and the final one recommended the Vital Light Day SPF15.
I have used this product before, but in between tried the super restorative cream instead. I liked this latter one because it made my skin feel more supple. I have now returned to the Vital Light Day cream and while it does the job, my skin feels drier more quickly.
Having said this, it's a lovely cream and I would recommend it as a good every day moisturiser. I'm not sure, however, whether I have a 'youthful glow'.

Clarins Vital Light Night - Dry Skin 50ml
Clarins Vital Light Night - Dry Skin 50ml
Clarins Vital Light Night is the second stage to the Vital Light anti-aging skin care regimen, helping to boost microcirculation for dry skin throughout the night at a time when the body regenerates and recharges itself. This boosting process maximises its revitalising benefits, so that smoother, firmer and more luminous skin is discovered upon waking. This diligent cream aims to recapture a woman's natural luminosity and a healthy glow that otherwise tends to fade with time. It's very difficult to find a night time moisturiser that doesn't leave your skin feeling dry and tight, or rubs off onto your pillow while you sleep. It's not easy to wash out all that grease!
Clarins Vital Light Night cream is smooth and easy to apply. It slides on like another skin, leaving it soft to touch and still moisturised in the morning. It's certainly light, but at the same time has the quality of richness and a delicate perfume.
This cream is supposed to make your skin appear firmer and more luminous. I'm not sure about that, but I love the way it feels.

It took me some time to muster up the courage to change my daily moisturiser. I already used a Clarins' cream, but it is designed for a younger skin than mine. After trying a sample of Vital Light Day, I realised the day had come for me to take the plunge...
Clarins Vital Light Day (Illuminating anti-ageing comfort cream) has a denser texture than my previous cream. Initially it doesn't spread so easily, but when I gently massage it into my skin, I find a very little goes a long way. Of course, being in my mid-fifties, I don't expect miracles and don't expect to suddenly look like someone in their mid twenties or thirties. As for their forties? Well, maybe! One thing is sure, my skins feels very comfortable afterwards and is smoother and softer than before. I am very happy with this and have learnt that as time passes it's important to change our moisturiser to accommodate the changes in our skin.
My one issue with Clarins is the rather 'over the top' names and descriptions they give to their products. For example 'Illuminating anti-ageing comfort cream' is such a tongue-twister that if you had to read it out loud it might put you off trying it. Fortunately, the effectiveness of the cream is not dependent on its label.
